@oregonmetro Metro stopped by our school today and put on a great musical for us called Jordan's Quest. We learned all about how we can help our planet by making smart choices with the things buy. Thanks Metro!

HOMEWORK SURVEY
James John Library: Mr. Keller would like to know what you think about homework.
Take the Homework Survey
Writing, Writing, Writing in Room 12 by Ida & Emma
@oregonwriting
Today we are working on our 3rd Grade Writing Work Sample. We are writing so that our 4th Grade teachers can see what kind of writers we are.
Our writing is called The Three Great Things About Me
We had to write three drafts: A rough draft, revising and final copy.
We are working on paragraphing, and thinking about one topic at a time.
We wrote an introduction, three supporting paragraphs and a conclusion.
As you can tell all of the kids are working hard.
We hope the 4th Grade teachers are impressed!Thursday, April 18, 2013

Lord of the Ants
We watched part of this video last week as part of our Mini Beasts Unit. Your 3rd Grader was really disappointed that we weren't able to watch the whole thing. This Wednesday is a late start. We thought they might want to watch this while they're waiting for school to start.

"4 out of 3 People Don't Understand Fractions"
We are into our current Math Unit on Fractions. This is video that your 3rd Grader watched in class. I'm sure they'd love to watch it again with you. - Mr. Crockett

Celebrity Guest Read Alouder Today: Danice Brown, Executive Director of PAST&E
@PASTandE
We were so lucky today to have Danice Brown stop by today as our Celebrity Guest Read Alouder today.
"Coach Brown" as the kids know her, is the Executive Director of PAST&E.
Our students love going to Portland After School Tennis & Education. We have enjoyed a long relationship with this ever expanding program. With both year around and afterschool SUN classes, PAST&E is providing our kids with one on one academic tutoring, teaching them about the life long benefits of sports and nutrition. Our kids can't help but feel like Tennis Super Stars!
Thanks Coach Brown for stopping by for Read Aloud today and for making James John School a great place to grow!
